Hi, my name is
alixandria wheeler (lixi)
I started my love for photography at a very young age. Starting alllll the way back to Pre-K when I was in a play at Booth School in Enfield, and they gave me an old black & white Polaroid camera to take pictures during the play. And yes, I said a Polaroid camera, and not one of those colorful ones you can get at Walmart nowadays. (I am sure I have a photo of me during this play somewhere taken by Ms Angi or Ms Fern.) I remember thinking to myself, wow how cool is this?
In 2012 my Grandma Jeannie and Grandpa Don gifted me my first real camera that was all mine, I did not have to share it with anyone. That camera was a Fujifilm Finepix S-series (I still own that camera). My mom, Becky Wheeler started a Facebook page for me called “Lixi’s Lens,” and I shared my photographs on there and many of her friends followed that page for me. I took a BUNCH of nature photography and loved every minute of it.
In 2020, I decided I wanted to give dispatching a try, and at that time, I did not know I would fall in love with it. I started my career at the Eldorado Police Department as a Police/Fire Telecommunicator. Months later, I became Eldorado’s Dispatch Coordinator. I feel like I truly found my calling, and I love what I do.
Recently I started dabbling in photography again, and thought to myself why not? Why not pick the camera back up, and do what I once enjoyed doing?
So if I’m not behind my telecommunicator desk, you can catch me behind the lens capturing all these beautiful and memorable moments.
Behind the Scenes
when im not behind the camera...
When I'm not behind the camera or serving my community, you can find me unwinding on my family's farm, surrounded by the peaceful beauty of nature and the lovable company of our cows. I also cherish spending quality time with my loved ones, whether that's hanging out with friends, making memories with family, or snuggling with my furry crew of dogs.
Fun Facts
Fact #1
I'm a horror / Halloween enthusiast. There's something about the spooky season that gets me pumped up! Fall is hands-down my favorite time of year - the crisp air, the vibrant foliage, and of course, the thrill of Halloween.
Fact #2
My passion for serving others doesn't stop at photography. As a Police/Fire Dispatch Coordinator at the Eldorado Police Department, I'm dedicated to helping those in need and making a difference in my community. When I'm not behind the camera, you can find me working tirelessly to support our first responders and the people they serve.
Fact #3
I’m a total horror junkie—give me Terrifier, Halloween, Scream, Nightmare on Elm Street, or Friday the 13th and I’m in my element.
But when I’m not watching masked killers chase people through the dark, I’m fully invested in reality tv. Yes, I’ll go from bloodcurdling screams to rose ceremonies and cast reunions without missing a beat.
Fact #4
I’ve got a soft spot for heavy metal.
There’s just something about the raw energy, heavy riffs, and chest-thumping drums that hits different.
It’s not just noise—it’s power, emotion, and clarity all wrapped into one.
When the world feels a little too loud in the wrong ways, blasting metal makes everything feel a little more in control.
It’s not just music—it’s therapy at full volume.
